German-born pianist Lucas Huber Sierra grew up in Madrid (Spain) and was taught there by renowned spanisch concert pianist Eduardo Fernández, from whom he learned many years. He also studied violoncello and was involved in numerous projects with youth orchestras in Madrid, as a pianist and cellist. In these years he won prizes in the Jugend Musiziert german youth competition, in different categories.
From the WS 2014/15 on Lucas Huber Sierra is a student in the class of Prof. Josef Anton Scherrer at the HfMT Köln. He has also recieved various artistic impulses from pianists such as Claudio Martínez Mehner, Nina Tichman, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Imre Rohmann and Solomon Mikowsky.
Apart from solo piano playing, Lucas Huber Sierra has great passion for chamber music and lied interpretation. For many years he worked as an accompanist for singing ensembles at the university. As a guest he has been invited to perform at the Bonn opera for the production "Penthesilea" 17/18. There are many recordings of his playing from various radio stations, among others with Deutschlandfunk.
